Dolly Parton on First No.1 Song on Billboard Christian Chart: “I Feel Humbled and Blessed”

Dolly Parton holds the top spot on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart for the first time ever.
The song that reached the number one spot is a duet with Christian rocker Zach Williams titled “There Was Jesus.”
“Having a No. 1 record at any time is a great thing, but having a No. 1 faith-based record during these crazy times is even greater,” Parton told Billboard. “I feel humbled and blessed to be part of this wonderful song with Zach Williams. It does my heart good to know that we have touched the lives of so many people.”
The song was originally released in 2019, when Parton and Williams performed it at the CMA Awards.
“There Was Jesus” is Williams’ third number one song on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart.
While this might be Parton’s first faith-based song to hit number one, it sure isn’t her first song ever to take the spot.

Over the years, the country singer has had 25 number ones on Hot Country Songs, the most of any woman, Billboard reports. She’s also hit two number ones on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.
“I don’t even know hardly what to say about all the No. 1s in all the different fields of music,” Parton said. “Thank you, God; thank you, fans; and thank you, everyone who has worked so hard to make this possible.”
