DR. QUINN star Joe Lando lost his home in the LA wildfires that ravaged the area earlier this month. He’s finally been able to process the destruction.

“I’m replaying what happened. And I’m getting a little aggravated now because I’m realizing there were so many things that happened that morning that could have possibly made this far less of the disaster that it turned out to be,” Lando told Fox News.

“I mean, my neighborhood looks like Hiroshima,” he added.

Lando and his son were among some of the people who stayed behind to protect their homes.

“My son Christian and I, we stayed behind to fight the fire for hours. I mean hours. [We] dumped water on top of my roof, my neighbor’s roof. But I was concerned,” he recalled.

“If that catches fire, you’ll catch my house on fire and my other neighbors. So, we were hosing down, you know, each other’s homes for a bit. And then people certainly slowly drop off. And Christian and I stayed there till the very, very end,” he continued.

Eventually, though, they had to leave. He lost his home to the blaze.

“As I think about the challenges my family and I have faced since the fires started a week ago today, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude for the kindness and generosity that surrounded us during this difficult time,” Lando wrote. “The fire took so much from us – our home, our sense of security, cherished memories, and our beautiful little town. But through it all, we were met with the overwhelming compassion of friends, neighbors, and strangers who came forward to help us rebuild our lives and in the process, our faith in humanity.

“To those of you who offered kind words of comfort, thank you for lifting our spirits,” he added. “And to those who contributed donations, your generosity has been a lifeline to help us back towards some sort of normalcy. My family will never forget everyone’s compassion and generosity from the bottom of our hearts, you have given us more than help – you have given us hope. Love, Joe.”
