HOME TOWN’s Erin and Ben Napier are showing support for Mississippi College at an upcoming scholarship banquet.

“Mississippi has such a rich arts heritage,” Erin shared. “And MC [Mississippi College] gets to claim one of our state’s greatest modern painters, Wyatt Waters. I got to take his workshop in Clinton years ago, before HOME TOWN, and have never forgotten those lessons he taught.”

She and Ben will speak at the Mississippi College Spring Scholarship Banquet on April 4.

“We are excited to speak at MC and see the campus,” she continued. “And to learn more about their arts programs.”

Previous speakers at the Scholarship Banquet include Reba McEntire, Drew Brees, Dr. Ben Carson, Sen. Bob Dole, Steve Forbes, Rudy Giuliani, Chuck Hagel and Condoleezza Rice.

“The Napiers are examples of people who had opportunities to establish their careers at other places around the country, but they stayed in Mississippi to make that happen,” Katrina Pace, executive director of the MC Foundation, said.

She continued, “They have shown a lot of love and care for their state. That’s an important message for our students, to see people who have remained here and thrived in such a big way with their careers. We’re excited to hear their message.”

During their visit, the Napiers will give a presentation and do a question-and-answer session with students.

“Our students are always at the forefront of everything we do as a University,” Pace continued. “The purpose of the banquet is to help them advance in their education and their experience here. Of course, getting to know the Napiers and what they’ve done for our state will be great. It’s always fun to spend time with celebrities, have the opportunity to ask them questions, and discover something about them you didn’t know before.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the Napiers:

HGTV stars Ben and Erin Napier are busy with TV shows, multiple businesses, and even starring in an upcoming Christmas movie. However, the renovation couple said that despite their never-ending responsibilities, their family comes first.

The HOME TOWN duo share two daughters, Helen, 4, and Mae, 17 months, and announced that they were taking a step back from their busy schedules to spend time with their daughters…

“We know this is fleeting,” Erin added. “I feel like we are in the middle of living the best years of our life. I’m very aware of it, and I want to keep it somehow.”
