Former NFL QB Focuses on Fatherhood After Retirement

Nick Foles has been a busy man since retiring from the NFL, and most of his time centers around fatherhood.
His latest project, DadSzn, is a clothing and apparel brand that “aims to represent a community of dads who both cherish and stay real about the daily grind of raising children. While there is no perfect Dad, the most important aspect of fatherhood is being present in your child’s life and being the best version of yourself.”
The motto Foles and his co-founder Pat O’Donnell came up with is “No off-season, just Dad SZN.”
“There’s different seasons within fatherhood,” Foles told Sports Spectrum. “So, like you’re in a different season than I’m in, but in a couple years, I will be in a different season than I am in now. So DadSzn is a dad apparel brand that we want to build strong — physically, mentally, spiritually — dads. We want to have great gear.”
“We want to have eventually it go into telling stories. A podcast, like how we’re talking now,” he added. “Like we talked ball and stuff, but we also talked about how am I being a father. Let’s talk ball at a high level but then let’s talk about the more important thing — being a husband and father.”

Foles announced his retirement from the NFL last month, and his wife, Tori, praised her husband’s focus on God throughout his career.
“You made everyone around you feel like they were important and you made every organization you went to a better place than it was before,” she wrote. “I believe you were able to do this because of your firm identity in Jesus Christ rather than the game of football. You knew the game was just a tool and that you were just a vessel. After the Super Bowl, you told me that ‘God used someone insignificant to do something significant to shine light on Him.'”
“We are so proud of you. Thank you for all of your hard work and for always putting us first,” she concluded. “Thank you for being the best husband and dad we could ever dream of. We are so excited for what’s to come.”

After 11 seasons in the NFL, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles has decided to retire.
“I want to thank my mom and dad. You all instilled in me a work ethic that took me to the NFL,” he said in his retirement video. “The character traits y’all have, the hard work y’all have, thank you for being that example for me.”
Foles also thanked God for the opportunity to play the game he loved at such an elite level.
“I wanna thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing me to live my childhood dream,” Foles said. “I’ve grown so much in my faith in this time.”
“As I step away from this game, I want to cheer on the next generation of NFL players. Go out there each and every day and give it everything you have. As this chapter closes, another one opens. I’m truly grateful for my time in the NFL,” he added.
