Ex Victoria’s Secret Model Grateful for Prayers Amid Breast Cancer Battle

Nicole Weider, a former Victoria’s Secret model who left that career after becoming a Christian, is asking for prayer amid her recent stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis.
The former model has openly detailed her journey on Instagram and updates her followers regularly.
Initially, Weider was told that the cancer was triple negative breast cancer, a rare subtype with a poor prognosis. But after seeking a second opinion, Weider learned it’s a different subtype with a much better prognosis.
She explained the situation in her most recent Instagram post.
“The biggest Christmas miracle in my life…and because of YOUR prayers, my families and all of ours!” she shared.
“My 2nd oncologist (that’s why I’m so important to get a 2nd opinion) wanted to double check what subcategory of cancer I have (unfortunately it’s still stage 4 breast cancer) but the first oncologist did a biopsy of my liver because that’s where it had spread, and without getting too complicated they tested the cells and it was breast cancer but they looked for the HER2 protein and it was ‘inconclusive’ so therefore she diagnosed me as triple negative,” Weider continued.
“My new oncologist Dr. O wanted me to have another biopsy, but this time of my breast where it first started…through that testing she re-diagnosed me as having HER2+ stage 4 breast cancer which is significantly better than the other diagnosis,” she added. “I know I’m not a statistic and we serve a Big God but the overall prognosis is much better for this type, AND it’s more treatable.”
Weider talked about how she is trusting God through the process.
“There is so much uncertainty that comes from a stage 4 cancer diagnosis,” she shared previously. “But I know God is in control of my story, I just have to keep staying positive, trusting in Him and praying.”
“What’s so interesting about it is, even though I have this diagnosis, I have felt God’s love like never before,” she said, per Faithwire. “Almost like I feel God comforting me in such a big way.”
She expressed her gratitude for her followers’ prayers following the updated diagnosis.
“I’m so encouraged, I love God so much, and Merry Christmas!” Weider said.

“It’s so interesting because when I got this stage 4 cancer diagnosis, I really started to have flashbacks of when I was young and growing up, and then why things happened a certain way, and what God had in store instead,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Weider continued, “Obviously, you don’t know the full plan until you get to heaven but at least in my case I’m really starting to see things from God’s point of view of why things unfolded in my life the way they did.”
The former model and actress said she was glad she didn’t make it big in Hollywood the way she planned when she was younger “because if I did, I probably wouldn’t have been married for 12 years with two kids. Wouldn’t have built my whole life centered on Jesus and creating the Christian ministry Project inspired for young women. And now because of that, I have an army of people praying for me!”
