** Sony Developing Faith-Based Animated Movie

DeVon Franklin (HEAVEN IS FOR REAL) is teaming with Sony Pictures Animation to develop THE LAMB, a faith-based Nativity story with an all-animal cast.

According to TheWrap, Sony intends “to produce an inspiring, respectful and entertaining take on the famous Nativity story while remaining accessible to a broad audiences.”

DeVon was the former Senior Vice President of Production at Columbia Pictures for Sony and preaches regularly. With a desire to bring more uplifting content from Hollywood to the big screen, he has started a new production company Franklin Entertainment to do just that.

** Autopsy Results for Joan Rivers Expected Next Week

Autopsy results from comedienne Joan Rivers’ death are expected next week, New York officials say.

Rivers had been in the hospital since August 28 after unknown medical issues sent her into a coma, which resulted in her death Tuesday afternoon at the age of 81.

The hospital where Rivers suffered cardiac arrest during a “minor” throat operation is being investigated.

The fiery Hollywood icon was known for her self-deprecating humor, her willingness to be anti-politically correct and a lovable but sometimes lewd charm that entertained millions for many decades. Please pray for the family, friends and loved ones who will miss Rivers the most.


** Ja Rule’s Family Gets Reality Show

Rapper/actor Ja Rule, who starred in his first faith-based movie earlier this year, I’M IN LOVE WITH A CHURCH GIRL, is getting his own reality show on MTV.

Following his family life with his wife, three children and mother-in-law, the show FOLLOW THE RULES is executive produced by actress Queen Latifah. Watch our video interview with Ja Rule from earlier this year here.

** Bill Murray’s Secret to His Success

Comic actor Bill Murray (STRIPES, GHOSTBUSTERS, GROUNDHOG DAY, GET LOW) revealed the secret to his success this week in a Q&A at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada.

“You can do the very best you can when you’re relaxed,” Murray advised reporters and fans attending the Q&A. “The more fun I had, the better I did.”
