Family of WHEN CALLS THE HEART’s Mamie Laverock Grateful for Prayers After Her Fall

The family of WHEN CALLS THE HEART actress Mamie Laverock is sharing an update after she fell from a five-story balcony last month.

Mamie Laverock, who plays Rosaleen Sullivan on WHEN CALLS THE HEART, needs prayer after a fall from a five-story balcony has left her on life support.
Laverock’s GoFundMe page explains that the actress was originally taken to the hospital for a “medical emergency” on May 11.
“Nicole [Laverock’s mother] was able to get there in time to save her life,” it reads. “Then got her to a hospital in Winnipeg. Mamie has since been transferred to Hospital here in Vancouver. Her recovery is unclear at this time but she is alive and is showing signs of improvement.”
However, on May 26, after she was admitted to the hospital, the 19-year-old “was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories. She sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support,” an update from her parents reads.
“She is enduring tremendous pain and continues to not give up,” an update on her GoFundMe shared. “We can only hold onto the miracles of each day and continue to thank everyone for their prayers and marvel at the miracles of her story. Our daughter loves her life and loves her family and is fighting hard everyday.”
Since her fall, Laverock has steadily improved and has even “opened her eyes,” her mom, Nicole Rockmann, told the LA Times.
“Let’s just hope this is the turnaround and she’s going to get through this now,” she added. “I couldn’t be happier that people reached out and cared. The story will be told.”
“This is an absolute miracle and there will be accountability,” Rockmann continued. “All we care about is that Mamie can make a recovery and that she’s alive and that she’s fighting and that she’s strong. It’s unbelievable that she’s with us.”
After Laverock’s fall, a spokesperson for Hallmark told PEOPLE, “We are deeply saddened to hear the news about Mamie. As a beloved member of our WHEN CALLS THE HEART community, we wish her and her family peace, comfort, and many prayers during this difficult time.”
