Forrest Frank teased a song that reminds listeners that even when life is hard, the Lord is faithful, and many times the place we are is exactly where we prayed we would be.
“You are in the season that you used to pray for, that job that is now a struggle, the kids that are hard to raise, the marriage that gets tough and refinement, you prayed for this, welcome to it. I wrote a song about it,” Frank shared on Instagram.
He sings:
There was a time that you prayed for that job
you said if you got it your problems would stop
and there was a day that you prayed for that house
and that car, and those kids and that spouse

then life got busy and the schedule got packed
you started to question if you need to pull back
you went to the Lord for a remedy and…
suddenly you start to clearly see
you’re exactly where you asked that you would be
and God was good enough to give you everything / so open your eyes what do you see?
I bet you’re right where you asked God that you would be
This song is incredibly important as it reminds us that the Lord never promised that following Him would make life any easier. In fact, He warned about the opposite — that Christians will face trials in life that non-believers may not have to go through.
“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you,” Jesus tells his followers in John 15:18-19.
Furthermore, the trials that Frank’s song speaks to do not necessarily relate to being hated by the world. Rather, life gets hard, but often those hard times come as a result of good things, such as marriage or kids. Frank has sung about the pain that comes from good in the past, and last year, he shared the pain that he felt after his grandfather passed away.
“Today, my grandad went to be with Jesus,” he wrote in a late December Instagram video that showed his grandfather watching a video of himself giving a sermon in 1985.
“My granddad is my role model. He just loves Jesus. He’s the kind of guy that you can’t get away from a conversation with him without him laying hands on you and praying for you. It’s almost as if the conversation itself is just leading towards a prayer,” Frank shared in 2024.
Though hard times are sure to come, Christians can rejoice knowing that some day everything will be made right, and we will be enjoy the good without any more of the bad.
