Biola University Hands Media Expert Ted Baehr Its Media Founders Award Hollywood, Calif. – The Media Task Force at Biola University has rewarded family and Christian advocate Dr. Ted Baehr, founder and publisher of Movieguide®: The Family/Biblical Guide to Movies & Entertainment, its Media Founders Award.
Dr. Baehr helped found the Media Task Force and the Annual Media Conference at Biola University, an Evangelical Christian college located in La Mirada, Calif.
“This is a great honor,” Dr. Baehr said. “The work we started at Biola to redeem the values of the mass media of entertainment has grown tremendously over the years. I’m blessed by God to have been a part of that work.”
Dr. Baehr is also founder and chairman of the Christian Film & Television Commission® (CFTVC) ministry and advocacy group, the sister organization to Movieguide® (www.movieguide.org). CFTVC and Movieguide® are an international non-profit ministry, advocacy group, and watchdog dedicated to “redeeming the values of the entertainment industry by influencing industry executives and by informing and equipping the public about the influence of the entertainment media.”
Each year for the past 20 years, Movieguide® releases its Annual report to the Entertainment Industry, a comprehensive financial report showing that audiences here and overseas prefer movies, home videos, and television programs with family-friendly content reflecting Christian, biblical, and conservative values and ethics.
