Gary Sinise recently reflected on the Snowball Express Annual Event hosted by his foundation to honor the families of fallen service members and first responders.
In an emotional video posted to Instagram, the actor and advocate shared clips from the special event which took place at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
“Welcome to the Magic Kingdom. Before we send you on your way, we want to take a moment to acknowledge none of us really want to be here today for the reasons that we’re here,” he began the video, speaking to the families. “We’re here to remember our heroes, our loved ones live on in our hearts. We are a grateful nation. No one, nothing can ever leave us as long as we remember.”
In the caption, Sinise explained, “At our Snowball Express Annual Event, families of fallen first responder heroes come together to create a special space for remembrance. A place where loved ones are honored, stories are shared, and grief is understood without explanation.”

He added, “Surrounded by others who have walked a similar path, families are able to connect, reflect, and heal together. It’s a reminder that their heroes are never forgotten, and that they are never alone.”
People in the comment section praised the FORREST GUMP actor for his work to support these families.
“God Bless Gary and every member of his family and all the families he helps. Wonderful ❤️👏🏻❤️👏🏻” one person said. Another added, “Thank you Gary for taking such good care of these precious families and sharing your heart with them!”
In a separate post, Sinise thanked those who helped put on the very important event.
“Thanks to you and the generosity of the American people, we brought the families of our fallen heroes together at Walt Disney World to find connection, comfort, and joy during what is often the most difficult time of year,” he said. “These meaningful moments were made possible thanks to a compassionate community united by gratitude and a shared commitment to honoring those who gave so much.”
The Snowball Express Annual Event is just one of many ways that Sinise’s Gary Sinise Foundation supports veterans, first responders and their families.
“We serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need,” the foundation’s website says. “We do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities.”
Sinise’s commitment to the families of fallen American heroes is a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy in our country come at a great price.
