Celebrity Chef Wants Us to Celebrate Military, First Responders ‘Every Single Day’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Celebrity chef Guy Fieri doesn’t think the U.S. recognizes military members and first responders enough.
“We should be celebrating our veterans and our active military and our first responders every single day in this country,” Fieri told Fox News Digital. “They’re unsung heroes.”
Fieri makes sure their service doesn’t go unnoticed. His foundation, which began in 2011, offers programs “that have supported first responders through disaster relief, celebrating our local heroes, saluting our military and veterans and improving Literacy in the community.”
“I’d love to help causes around the world…But I really believe that we need to take care of these folks at home first. And that’s what we do,” the chef said of his foundation.

Serving those willing to lay down their lives for others is personal to Fieri. His father was part of the military.
“My dad…was on submarines during Vietnam. A lot of my family members have served in our country. My foundation, the Guy Fieri Foundation, is all about…serving those who have served us,” he explained.
As Fieri wrapped up 2024, he celebrated the many people his foundation helped, sharing a few highlights.
“This year, raising funds to support restaurant workers in Florida after the hurricanes where we debuted our new East Coast disaster relief trailer to feeding first responders and veterans, as a token of our appreciation for their service has been special moments for us,” Fieri wrote on Instagram. “The Prune Packers hosted us for a fun night of fundraising at their stadium, feeding the athletes at Windsor High School’s annual Special Olympics event, supporting our 4-H and FFA members and donating the meat to Salvation Army and Redwood Gospel Mission and helping with the Read On, Sonoma program!”
