Here’s What ChatGPT Has to Say About Christianity

Curious about what ChatGPT has to say about Christianity? Pastor Jonathan Pokluda recently got some answers from the tech.

“Watch what ChatGPT says about Christianity!” he captioned an Instagram video.

Pokluda asked the AI program, “Of all the religions in the world, which one is most likely to be true? Answer in one word please.”

“Christianity,” ChatGPT answered.

When he asked the program to elaborate, it pointed to “Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies, the coherence of its worldview and the transformative power of the Gospel.”

“Ultimately, the truth of Christianity rests on Jesus,” ChatGPT continued. “If He rose from the dead, then everything He said is true. And the evidence overwhelmingly supports that He did.”

It concluded, “At the end of the day, the question of truth comes down to Jesus. If He really lived, died and rose again as history suggests, then Christianity is not just true — it’s the most important truth in the world.”

ChatGPT isn’t the only AI model spreading a message of faith. Christian AI, a free app, offers to “enhance your spiritual journey with artificial intelligence,” per the App Store website.

It offers “personalized guidance and support,” as well as interactive Bible quizzes and the ability to discuss topics of faith with the AI model.

However, not all AI models share this outlook. Chinese AI model DeepSeek has been designed to stay away from “sensitive” topics, including religion.

“When asked about Jesus, Catholicism, the Vatican-China deal, the one-child policy and Christian persecution in China, DeepSeek-R1 revealed a carefully controlled approach — one that at times actively warns users about potential repercussions for practicing their faith and advises them to ‘be discreet,’” The National Catholic Register reported

The outlet concluded that DeepSeek “offers surprising insights into Christianity in China,” adding that their “big takeaway” is that “even in AI, the Chinese government’s tight grip on religious expression is unmistakable. And yet, DeepSeek’s occasional cracks in censorship make it clear: The search for truth is still alive and possible — even when faced with the Great Firewall.”
