This HGTV Couple Has the Sweetest Love Story

HGTV’s HOMETOWN stars Erin and Ben Napier have the sweetest love story.
“I had a crush on Ben for a year before we ever spoke,” Erin explained on the “Dadville” podcast. Little did she know that Ben felt the same.
The two attended college together and had several awkward interactions, neither knowing that the other was interested. Then one day, their relationship began to move forward.
“I was yearbook design editor, and we were doing 10 feature stories on the most interesting people on campus,” Erin explained. When Ben was selected as one of the featured students, Erin seized the opportunity to get to know him better.

“So, he came into the yearbook room, and he gave me [a hug]. From that moment, we were not apart for six days. We were together non-stop. He met my parents, just as my friend…my mom met him and was like ‘I love him, he’s a good one.’ And my dad met him and was like ‘I love him, he’s tall,’” she laughed.
“We’ve been inseparable ever since,” Ben said.
They celebrate that moment each year.
“December 6th, 2004 would be the last morning I woke up and spent a day without you. I was not looking for you, but I am so happy that God gave me you!” Ben said in an Instagram post Erin shared last year.
Today, the HGTV couple are parents to Helen, 5, and Mae, 2, and their daughters are their No. 1 priority.
“I really don’t want someone to else raise them,” Erin said previously. “I want us to be 100% a part of their life.”
“We have to have our priorities, and our first priority is what will be when there is no TV, and what was there before there was TV, and that’s me and Ben and the girls. So, that’s the priority,” she told PEOPLE earlier this year.
