‘Honored and Thankful’: Christian Artists Celebrate Grammy Nominations

Grammy nominations are in, and some of the biggest names in Christian music received nods, from gospel legend CeCe Winans to new artist Forest Frank.
Bethel Music and Jenn Johnson’s “Holy Forever (Live)” featuring CeCe Winans was nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. Other nominees in the category include Elevation Worship (“Praise”), Maverick City Worship (“In The Name Of Jesus” and “In The Room”) and Winans (“That’s My King”).
Winans was also nominated for Best Gospel Album for More Than This. She celebrated her nominations in an Instagram post.
“So honored and thankful to be nominated with so many well-deserving God-honoring friends. #Honored #Thankful #MoreThanThis,” the singer wrote.

Other nominees in the Best Gospel Album category include Ricky Dillard’s Choirmaster II (Live), Kirk Franklin’s Father’s Day, Melvin Crispell III’s Covered Vol. 1 and Karen Clark Sheard’s Still Karen.
Elevation Worship, DOE, Brandon Lake, Maverick City Music and newcomer Forest Frank were all nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
“husband, father, GRAMMY NOMINATED ARTIST,” Frank wrote in a post celebrating his nomination.

“All these records and songs [are] so deserving,” he continued. “Grateful to any voters who feel this record and song are worth winning. Not why we do it, but it’s exciting to celebrate what God’s doing in Christian and Gospel music.”
