Julie Chen Moonves turned to God after being burned by her coworkers and shared how He transformed her heart and brought her to a place of true forgiveness.
“I went to church, to God, to get revenge. I got a phone call from then head of CBS daytime, and she says to me, ‘Two of your co-hosts, they said they would feel more comfortable doing the show tomorrow without you. If you show up to do your job, they won’t show up.’ The betrayal that I felt from two co-hosts who I really thought where my sisters, I was like, ‘I’m so mad, they didn’t get rid of me Season 1, but they got rid of me now,’” the TV personality told CBN.
“And then suddenly, I start studying the Bible, and before I know it, God is changing me from the inside out…” she continued. “I thought, like, ‘Okay, maybe if I pray out loud for them, like, I can fool God. He doesn’t really know what’s in my heart in that one spot that’s still mad.’ But slowly, over time, God softened my heart, opened it. It was so powerful for me to let go of that bitter, angry side, because I know I can run into anyone and everyone who I felt, you know, had wronged me, and be like, give them a hug.”

Beyond this radical forgiveness, Moonves has seen the Lord touch every part of her life as she put her foundation in Him, rather than the things of this world.
“When I started putting God first, wow, everything shifted,” Moonves previously said. “I looked at everything differently and I went about my whole life differently and I got peace that I never knew existed.”
“Like, who doesn’t want peace in their life, you know, no more drama, no more anxiety, no more worrying and it just really changed how, you know, how I’m a wife, how I’m a mother, how I interact with people,” she continued.
After experiencing the amazing power of the Lord in her own life and seeing how He transformed her priorities, Moonves now uses her platform to spread the hope of the Gospel with her fans.
“God has blessed me with so many different jobs and…so many different platforms,” Moonves told Sadie Robertson Huff in 2023. “If I don’t use the gifts He gave me to publicly speak to the whole community, then I’m not doing my part.”
“I have a certain amount of influence in the world that could bring a positive change and create more disciples of Christ…I would be a hypocrite and a phony if I didn’t use any and every platform to tell the world ‘I am a new creation in Christ,’” she added.
The most amazing part of Moonves’ story is that it is not particularly unique. The Lord impacts everyone who follows Him and softens their hearts, allowing them to experience radical forgiveness and complete transformation and find freedom from emotions that can keep us trapped. Praise God for the way He transformed Moonves’ life.
