How This HGTV Star ‘Trusted God For This Destination’
Movieguide® Contributor
FIXER TO FABULOUS host Jenny Marrs shared that she’s making major headway on her new book, “Trust God, Love People: Building a Good Life with the Ones You Love.”
“This is it. I’m in the final days of editing my latest book before these vulnerable words of mine will head to the printer. I’m up to my eyeballs in old journals, cross-referencing and (over) analyzing every word choice,” she shared on Instagram Mar. 6.
She continued:
As I look back on the twists and turns and changes that have taken place while working on this manuscript, Anne Lamott’s words from ‘Bird by Bird’ ring ever true:
‘E. L. Doctorow once said that “writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.” You don’t have to see where you’re going, you don’t have to see your destination or everything you will pass along the way. You just have to see two or three feet ahead of you. This is right up there with the best advice about writing, or life, I have ever heard.’
The book has taken Marrs two years to write.

“I don’t have a publication date yet. As soon as I know details, I’ll absolutely share with you all! 🤍”
Though Marrs says there’s no publication date yet, she told TV Insider in January that the book will come out in the fall. Penguin Random House’s website currently lists the publication date as Oct. 7, 2025, and provides a description for the book. The book also appears available to preorder on Amazon for the same date.
Part of the description reads:
In Trust God, Love People, Jenny opens wide the doors to her life and her family’s home to share the stories of how taking little steps of faith have added up to an unexpected and abundant life. We ride shotgun next to her as she moves to Bentonville, Arkansas, a town where she knows almost no one, and watch how she slowly puts down roots. The sweet stories of how she met Dave, and the early days of marriage and first homes together are here, as is the candid pain and hope of their time spent waiting to start a family before joyfully welcoming their twin boys. Jenny shares intimate glimpses into their years-long fight to adopt their daughter, Sylvie, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as behind-the-scenes details about how their work to restore old homes became Fixer to Fabulous.
