Clarkson previously served as a coach on THE VOICE from Season 14-21 and Season 23.
Her upcoming stint on THE VOICE Season 30 comes after the news that she will be ending her successful daytime talk show, THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW.
“This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW,” the AMERICAN IDOL winner said in a statement. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives. This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on THE VOICE from time to time… you never know where I might show up next.”
Clarkson continued, “There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”
“I know everybody thinks, ‘Oh, she’s quitting,’ but I still have other jobs. I’m still doing stuff,” Clarkson told the TODAY show of her decision to end the show. “There’s just too much on the plate. I was like, ‘You know what, It’s time to kinda pull back.’ It’s amazing, that’s what was really hard [because] the crew’s been incredible…That was a really hard thing for me, but an easy decision as a momma.”
The singer expressed her intent to “prioritize” her children, which follows the 2025 death of her ex-husband and her children’s father, Brandon Blackstock.
“Kelly is obviously heartbroken for her kids. Losing their dad is incredibly painful and confusing,” a source close to the singer told PEOPLE. “But she’s also very grounded. She’s not someone who falls apart. She looks at life realistically and does everything she can to make things as steady and loving as possible for her kids.”
The source added that Clarkson’s “focus is to be present for her kids,” adding, “She’s a great mom.”
THE VOICE fans are happy to hear Clarkson will be back!
