Actress Reveals Church Where She Got Sober Destroyed By LA Fires

A church with special significance to actress Jamie Lee Curtis has been destroyed by the wildfires ravaging Los Angeles-area communities.
The actress posted on Threads that the Church of the Palisades has been burned to the ground.
“This is the church in the Palisades that had a beautiful Sunday school and school and was a gorgeous house of worship and is the building that I got sober in 25 years ago,” she wrote along with a photo of the burned out church.
“I think of all of the souls who came there for comfort and solace and all the baptisms and funerals and weddings and the thousands of people who reclaimed their lives through Sobriety. Also, the women’s club in the Palisades where I met many sober people. Both are gone,” she reflected. “Tough times. We will persevere. God bless you all.”

Numerous other places of worship in the area have been destroyed by wildfires which began on Tuesday.
“On Wednesday, KCAL photojournalist John Schreiber reported on X that Altadena Community Church and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Altadena, California, have burned down,” Deseret News reported.
Rev. Carri Patterson Grindon, rector of St. Mark’s, updated parishioners on Facebook.
“Beloved Saint Mark’s Community, It is with a broken heart that I share with you the news that our church building is lost. It caught fire at around 6:30 this morning, and is gone,” she wrote.
Corpus Christi Church in the Pacific Palisades was also destroyed.
“I have no words. Our beautiful church in Pacific Palisades, as of this morning,” the church’s website said along with a photo of the gutted building.
Presbyterian Church on Sunset Boulevard, one of the first religious buildings to catch fire, also burned to the ground, “except for the iconic cross tower,” Breitbart reported.
