GAF Star’s Home Reduced to Rubble By LA Fires: ‘Sending Prayers’
By Movieguide® Staff
Great American Family star Cameron Mathison revealed the wildfires in Los Angeles have reduced his home to rubble.
“We are safe, but this is what’s left of our beautiful home,” he posted on Instagram. “Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday.”
“Thanks to all who reached out and checked in. Can’t respond to all so wanted to give an update here,” Mathison, who attended Movieguide®’s awards gala last year, added. “Sending so many prayers to everyone being affected by these fires.”
Along with the update, he shared a video of what is left of his house, rubble smoldering as fires burn and smoke billows in the background.

The wildfires began breaking out around LA on Tuesday.
“Fierce wildfires are raging in the Los Angeles area, fueled by powerful Santa Ana winds, sending residents fleeing from burning homes through flames, ferocious winds and towering clouds of smoke. Thousands of firefighters were battling at least three separate blazes, from the Pacific Coast inland to Pasadena,” AP News reported.
“At least two people have already been killed and more than 1,000 structures have been destroyed as these major wildfires tear through communities in southern California, according to LA County officials. A significant number of serious injuries have also been reported, and the largest fires remain at 0% containment,” NPR added.
Mathison’s Great American Family costar Candace Cameron Bure took to Instagram to ask her followers to pray for rain.
“Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Sylmar and Sepulveda pass are still burning,” she wrote. “I woke up to the same flames. Our sweet Palisades is destroyed. So many memories. We are praying God pours rain down on Los Angeles. Thank you firefighters and first responders for everything you’re doing to keep people safe and fight these fires. You are true heros. So many memories.”
