Jelly Roll Shares Moving Message From Fan That Made Him ‘Sob’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Country singer Jelly Roll recently shared the moving fan note he received four years ago, and still keeps in his car today.
“You want to talk about what drives me? There’s a note right here,” he said during an episode of WHAT DRIVES YOU WITH JOHN CENA. “I want you to check it out if you don’t mind. You can read it right there on my dash.”
The note read, “Your music saved my best friend’s life. Thank you for being unapologetically you and doing what you do,” signed, “A.”
“They left this note on my window four years ago, and I sobbed in the parking lot reading this note. I got in and stuck it in my dash,” Jelly Roll said. “Four years later, that thing is still taped on my dash.”

Jelly Roll has been open about his past struggles, from drug addiction, to frequent incarceration. He credits the birth of his daughter Bailee as the reason he decided to turn his life around.
In an interview with Billboard, the singer recalled thinking, “I’ve never had nothing in life that urged me in the moment to know that I had to do something different. I have to figure this out right now.”
He started seriously pursuing music and told Fox News his faith in God was the “driving force” that kept him going.
“Faith was a lot of me believing it was going to work out for me,” Jelly Roll explained. “Could you imagine being a 37-year-old, unsuccessful musician when you told people that was your job?”
He continued, “It wasn’t like something I did on the side. Like, it was my job. And I just always had faith that God had a bigger purpose for what I was trying to do.”
