Hollywood Actress Speaks Up for Rights of Christian Foster Parents
By Movieguide® Contributor
Actress and foster system advocate Jen Lilley is speaking up about the Vermont couple who claim their foster license was almost revoked over their stance on transgender ideology.
“The journey for me started as a child,” Lilley told CBN of her life-long experience with the foster system. Her parents fostered children, and, once she got married, Lilley also began welcoming children into her home.
“When love is your motive, you have to look at these kids,” she said. “You can’t look away.”

Lilley then spoke about her recent visit to Vermont, where she spoke to the governor’s office about two families who are suing the state for being punished for their views on transgender topics.
Melinda Antonucci and Casey Mathieu told Fox News that the state threatened to revoke their foster license after they opposed the idea that, if a child in their care wanted to transition, they would facilitate that process.
“I just feel like people need to know what’s going on, because it’s crazy that they’re wanting to do this to kids and pushing it on kids and discriminating against us,” Antonucci said. “I think that we’re good people who want to do something good. I just think it’s really gotten out of control.”
Lilley explained that she went to Vermont to express her concerns over the situation, saying, “I would say, without a doubt, most people want the best for their children. They have a different idea of what that looks like, but that is not the government’s decision, and that’s the problem here.”
“This action not only violates our Constitutional rights but also jeopardizes the well-being of children in dire need of safe, loving homes,” the former Movieguide® Awards host continued. “The government is deciding that it’s safer for a child to remain in a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation than to live in a home with Christian beliefs? Make it make sense.”
The actress concluded, “When you take off the spirit of fear and you’re like, ‘Wait a second,’ and you look at this from love and compassion, you start to suddenly see things clearly, with a spirit of reconciliation and coming together of the American people.”

“Holiday movies are pure joy to make,” she told Soap Opera Digest. “They bring so much warmth, hope, and nostalgia. It’s like wrapping yourself in a cozy blanket and sharing a moment of happiness with the world…A LITTLE WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS holds a special place in my heart, because of the classic story it honors and the incredible cast I got to work with.”
