JEOPARDY! and WHEEL OF FORTUNE are officially coming to streaming — Sony just inked a deal with Hulu and Peacock to bring the game shows to their platforms.
“We are thrilled to bring America’s favorite game shows to an even wider audience on Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and Peacock,” Sony Pictures Television chairman Keith Le Goy said in a statement. “JEOPARDY! and WHEEL OF FORTUNE are two of the most successful game shows in television history, and we look forward to giving fans the best possible streaming access to our shows this fall.”
Hulu and Peacock now have next-day streaming rights to new episodes of the game shows starting this fall.
This multi-year deal is pretty significant: it “marks the first time that in-season syndicated episodes will be available on national streaming platforms,” Deadline noted, adding that the deal also includes “access to library episodes of the shows.”
Some have noticed a notable exception to the streaming services given access to JEOPARDY! and WHEEL OF FORTUNE. Paramount+, a partner of CBS, was shut out. No surprise: CBS and Sony just ended their long battle over who has control over the game shows.

In May, a three-judge panel from the Second Appellate District ruled “CBS will remain the sole distributor” of both shows, per Deadline, overturning an April 2025 ruling that allowed Sony to distribute the game shows. Sony Pictures TV claimed CBS was licensing the game shows at “below-market rates,” ultimately undercutting profits for them.
“We plan to appeal the decision immediately,” a spokesperson for CBS Media Ventures told Deadline in April. “This is only a preliminary ruling based on partial evidence, not the outcome of the full case. We’re confident once all the evidence is heard at trial, we will prevail on the merits. In today’s ruling, the court itself recognized the balance of harm tips in CBS’s favor, so we will ask the appellate court for a stay pending our appeal.”
A Sony spokesperson celebrated the ruling, stating, “We are gratified by the Court’s ruling today and we look forward to distributing our shows, JEOPARDY! and WHEEL OF FORTUNE, to the 200+ stations that license and count on this programming in the U.S. and around the world, and the millions of fans who tune in to these beloved game shows every week.”
The streaming deals Sony struck with Hulu and Peacock are separate from the syndication deal that CBS and Sony are still battling it out for.
