Jesse Hutch Shares Exciting Update About His New Project
By Movieguide® Contributor
Jesse Hutch shared his excitement for the first day of filming on a new TV series based on his upcoming movie HOMESTEAD.
“Hey everybody, Jesse Hutch here, so check this out, okay. Man, it feels so good to be back we are about to begin principal photography on the series HOMESTEAD,” Hutch said on Instagram. “Now this is going to follow HOMESTEAD, the feature film hitting theaters December 20th.”
“I’m just out here on the property, just had a little bit of time before the hair and makeup test…” Hutch continued. “It’s so amazing to be on set where you don’t just sit in one building and wait and wait until you’re needed, you know, you can just go for a walk, you’re out on the homestead, you’re out here just enjoying the scenery.”
In the movie and subsequent series, Hutch plays an ex-military operative who is brought on as a security detail for a 300-acre homestead. To prepare for the role, he worked and trained with real-life Green Berets to better understand how they would approach this job.
Hutch previously shared that the military aspect of the project was part of what drew him to the story in the first place.
“I attempted to join the military twice actually in my life and both times just really felt like God was like ‘No, don’t do it,’” he told PureFlix. “I have no idea what I was being guided for and redirected for…but when I look back, I believe there’s a lot of great things that have happened in my life and now I get to represent people that I’ve actually kind of always had a heart for. There’s a part of me that really is drawn to that sort of lifestyle — the honor, the character that comes with it.”
Along with Hutch, HOMESTEAD stars Neal McDonough, Bailey Chase, Dawn Olivieri, Kevin Lawson, Kearran Giovanni, Tyler Lofton, Susan Misner, Olivia Sanabia, Grace Powell and Caden Dragomer.

Jesse Hutch shared his experience working on Angel Studio’s upcoming HOMESTEAD project.
“I play an ex Green Beret, who is part of the main security detail brought in to protect a 300 acre homestead,” he wrote on Instagram. “As a performer, I have a deep longing to represent the characters I play on screen. Film moves quickly. Every opportunity I had was created by a fantastic team who cared about the story.”
Hutch shared that he and other cast members trained with “Actual Green Berets and Marines,” consulted with active duty members of the military and trained six days a week.
“We have an awesome writing team,” he continued. “I can’t live 30 years of service in 1 feature film but…I’m gonna give it a shot. This will be released this year in 2024. The crew and cast are fantastic people. Keep your eyes open. The feature film will be in theaters. The tv series to follow is coming.”
