Podcaster Joe Rogan is known for being a little out there, but now he’s putting one foot after the other — right through church doors.
In a podcast from June 5, one of his guests asked him if he attended church.
“I’ve been,” Rogan said. “It’s actually very nice. They’re all just trying to be better people. It’s a good vibe.”
Rogan explained that he tried to attend Catholic church but didn’t elaborate on why it wasn’t for him. He said he attends a Christian church, which one friend on the podcast explained is non-denominational.
One guest joked that Rogan was listening to Joel Osteen-like messages at church.
“Yeah, I’m just giving all my money to Osteen,” Rogan replied sarcastically.
He added that he also stopped drinking because he wanted to see how he would be without consuming alcohol for a long time.
“And it’s a lot better,” he said. “You feel a lot better.
His friend Mark Normand remarked that Rogan might feel bored without alcohol.
“I have fun doing standup. I have fun hanging out in the green room,” Rogan said.
“You’ll be back. You’ll be back,” said Normand.
Rogan replied, “You think so? That’s a supportive friend.”
“It’s just one of those things where you stop doing it,” Rogan said, “and you’re like, ‘Oh, I feel so much better. Why was I doing that?’”
“I had a good time drinking. Don’t get me wrong. It’s just I don’t like what it does to your body.”

Rogan previously stated that he was an atheist.
“I grew up; I went to Catholic school when I was very young for first grade. And I had a really bad experience there. And I was like, ‘Religion is b********,’” the podcaster said.
But his interest in faith seems to be growing.
Last year, he told Kid Rock, “’I think the concept of Jesus is absolutely amazing, and if Jesus came here and wanted to visit me, I would be psyched…Very interested in the idea of Jesus being a real person.”
But, he also told him, “I want Bigfoot to be real, just like I want Jesus to be real.”
Rogan recently hosted theologian Wes Huff on his podcast, and the two spent over three hours talking about faith and the Bible.
“Joe Rogan and I have had on and off communication since then. I can tell you for a fact that he is attending a church, and that has been a consistent thing. And so, things are happening,” Huff said.
Please pray for Rogan in his journey to faith.
