In a new Instagram post, THE CHOSEN star Jonathan Roumie shared his gratitude to God for all the opportunities He has blessed the actor with.

“My cup runneth over with gratitude and thanksgiving for all the Lord has done in my life. Seven years ago today, my life utterly changed for the better. I had no idea what God was up to or how unbelievably far He would take me in service to Him,” he wrote referring to THE CHOSEN.

He shared photos of him with a cup of coffee spilling over, along with snapshots of some of his favorite moments from the last several years.

“As a flawed and imperfect human being….I’m truly unworthy of the honor of playing the most perfectly Divine/Human Christ, but I will humbly continue to accept this mission for as long as He will allow me to do so,” Roumie continued. “There are no coincidences in the timing of my surrender moment and the turning point of the rest of my life thus far. All credit goes to God (and those to whom I am conjoined in this endeavor who have equally consented to His Divine will in their own lives- @dallas.jenkins I’m looking at you 😉).”

Roumie went on to explain that because of his relationship with Jesus, he wants to do better in life.

“Jesus makes me want to do better…to BE better every day, and in every possible configuration and interaction with my Neighbors in this life,” the actor wrote. “Difficult is an understatement. Sanctifying is the result. He set the bar for all humanity, out of His unending love and mercy for you and me. He Is that which we ultimately desire.”

Roumie then included the prayer of Padre Pio, an Italian Capuchin priest, that reads:

Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget You. You know how easily I abandon You. Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak, and I need Your strength, so that I may not fall so often. Stay with me, Lord, because You are my life, and without You, I am without fervor. Stay with me, Lord, because You are my light, and without You, I am in darkness. Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will. Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice and follow You. Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You very much, and always be in Your company. Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You. Stay with me, Lord, because, poor as my soul is, I want it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of love.

Since Roumie took on the role of Jesus, over 200 million people have watched THE CHOSEN, encouraging believers and sharing the story of Jesus with nonbelievers.

Roumie and his castmates from THE CHOSEN will return to Prime Video on June 15 as Season 5 begins streaming.
