BIG BROTHER’s Julie Chen Moonves urges others to listen to the call of Jesus.

“[Jesus] changed my life, brought me peace that transcends all understanding,” she said in an interview with Movieguide®.

“Jesus is calling all of us. I know He was calling me forever, and I was just too busy to listen,” Moonves explained. “But when COVID first struck the world and we all had time to sit down and really listen, it was as if God was saying, ‘Can you hear me now?’ And I heard Jesus calling me loud and clear then.”

The BIG BROTHER host has been open about her faith journey. In an interview with The Christian Post, Moonves explained that, after some turmoil in both her personal and professional lives, she went to a church on a whim.

“I went in and I just was by myself and I got down on my knees and I started praying and opening up my heart to God asking for help,” she shared

After that, Moonves began attending virtual church services and Bible studies. Two years later, she made the decision to be baptized.

“I realized Christianity is about a personal relationship with God,” she explained. “It all came together through various people in my life, whether it was my aunt or former cameraman who sent me a study Bible or my former college roommate who sent me ‘Hope for Today’ by Billy Graham.”

Moonves continued, “I saw that Christianity was about being saved; it wasn’t about being judged or punished. It was about being saved and having hope in life. That’s what really made me run towards Christianity.”

In an appearance on the “Jesus Calling” podcast, Moonves elaborated on the comfort she feels from having faith in her life.

“I realize now — and I knew this then — I was running on fumes. I was always exhausted,” she said. “I felt accomplished because of all these goals, career-wise or family-wise. But I didn’t have the peace that I now have. And why would I have had peace in my life back then? If you know Jesus, you know peace. If you have no Jesus, you have no peace. I just wasn’t smart enough back then to realize that.”

Moonves’ testimony is a moving reminder that Jesus is always calling out to us; it’s up to us to listen to Him.
