Kellan And Brittany Lutz Celebrate Son’s First Birthday: ‘Can’t Believe How Fast Time Is Flying’

Actor Kellan Lutz and wife Brittany just shared some sweet pictures of their son Kasen’s first birthday.
“Happy 1st birthday to our S☀️NSHINE boy!!!!!” the couple posted on Instagram. “He is the absolute sweetest and truly brings so much light to our family. Can’t believe how fast time is flying but we’re loving every single second watching him grow! How do we have a 2 AND 1 year old now?!”
They are also parents to daughter Ashtyn, 2.
Brittany reflected on how many changes her family has gone through in the last year in another Instagram post.
“Time goes so quickly and in a culture obsessed with the next thing, here’s a reminder to slow down and reflect on where you came from. All you’ve made it through and accomplished,” she wrote under a series of photos taken over the past year.
“We never want to live in the past but it’s good to glance back and see just how amazing and strong and resilient you are. Whatever you’re going through, you’ve got this,” she encouraged her followers. “You’ve survived 100% of your bad days and I believe your best are still ahead of you.”
The couple suffered a devastating loss in 2020 when their first child died six months into Brittany’s pregnancy.
“There is no easy way, but I’m just so grateful for our faith and sharing the blood of Jesus Christ,” Kellan said in an interview at the time. “We are so grateful she is in heaven, and we remind ourselves that she didn’t have to come into this world and deal with heartbreak, and she gets to be with Jesus. It’s bittersweet.”

Despite the immense loss, Brittany held fast to her faith in God.
“But the one thing I did intentionally was try to give God EVERYTHING. Not just the things I understood or felt comfortable giving Him,” Brittany said. “Did I want to know the reasons? Yes. Was I tempted to go into dark, dark spirals of depression and disappointment because of all I had lost? Yes.”
Brittany continued: “But I knew God could only trade the ashes for beauty if they were in His hands. As long as I was holding onto my pain He couldn’t turn it into purpose.”
As the couple expects their daughter, Brittany reflected on God’s faithfulness to carry her through that grief and ultimately turn their trial into praise to Him.
“So whatever is hurting your heart, whatever has been stolen from you in the last year, whatever you’re holding onto until you know all the answers, I’d like to encourage you to let it go. What if I leaned into my emotions instead of God’s loving arms and refused to let go until He showed me why I needed to? As if He “owes” me anything! I don’t know where I’d be,” Gonzales maintained.
