Kelly Clarkson and Wynonna Judd just teamed up for an amazing performance of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” to get in the Christmas spirit.
The singers were part of the NBC holiday special CHRISTMAS AT THE OPRY.
“Get ready for a good ol’-fashioned country sing along!” NBC posted on Instagram along with a clip of Clarkson and Judd’s performance.
“Clarkson sparkled with a festive green dress and red lip to match, while Judd rocked a black jumpsuit embellished with glittering gold cuffs and lapels,” MSN reported.
Clarkson and Judd also gave some solo performances
“Clarkson sang her hit ‘Underneath The Tree,’ while Judd delivered a soulful rendition of ‘O Holy Night,’ among other tunes,” NBC wrote.
In addition to performing, Judd also hosted the event, which featured performances from Mickey Guyton, Lauren Alaina, Brenda Lee, Trace Adkins and many others.
Clarkson hosted her own Christmas event earlier this year — NBC’s CHRISTMAS IN ROCKEFELLER CENTER.
“I can’t imagine a better way to kick off Christmas this year than to be a part of this beautiful New York tradition with the lighting of the tree!” Clarkson said of the holiday special.
CHRISTMAS AT THE OPRY will air again on NBC on Dec. 20 and is available to stream on Peacock.
Judd has been stepping out into the spotlight more often these days as she continues to mourn the loss of her mother, Naomi. Movieguide® previously reported on how she is leaning on her faith during this time:
Country music star Wynonna Judd recently opened up about her time of renewal during the COVID-19 pandemic and how she found solace after her mother’s death on Southern Living’s podcast, “Biscuits and Jam.”
“It just got real, real fast,” Judd said about the pandemic. “[I] started cooking the three meals a day and literally walking the land. And just crying out to God and asking why. And so many things came from that time. It’s an interesting paradox.”
Judd revealed that her career transformed during the pandemic. When the world closed down, it gave her more time to be with God and understand his will.
“There were some real personal me and God moments where I realized I started a new career. Songs came from that time, so even though it was a shutdown time for so many of us, in the music business especially, it was a time of rebirth. In death, there is life.”
