Christian Artist Uses AGT Stage to Remind Us of Our God-Given Purpose

Christian artist Lauren Daigle and THE GREATEST SHOWMAN singer Loren Allred join forces on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT to sing a mash-up of Daigle’s “Thank God I Do” and “You Say.”

When the performance was over, the two received a standing ovation and were asked by show host Terry Crews what it takes to reach the top.

“I would say it takes persistence, it takes dedication, it takes working on your craft and knowing how to serve it well,” Daigle said.  “The most important thing is every person, every contestant, was made for a unique purpose. What is that message that you’re going to bring into the world? What is it that you’re going to share? What gift are you going to be able to give? That’s the most important thing. You know a talent is great, but having a message and a purpose is something well beyond.”

Crews then turned to Allred and asked her what she would tell AGT’s top five contestants.

“Just do your best, be brave and just know that no matter what happens here on this competition it’s just the beginning,” she said.

Afterward, the duo posted on their Instagrams, showcasing their favorite moments of the night.

“Sharing the stage with the amazing @lauren_daigle on @agt last night was EVERYTHING! Thank you, AGT, for such a special night,” Allred wrote.

“You were made with a purpose,” Daigle captioned her post.

So many fans loved the performance and shared that love on AGT’s post.

“I’m gonna listen to this on repeat,” one person commented.

Another said, “Are you kidding?? The amount of talent on one stage is INSANE.”

One fan wrote, “Aww, I can’t believe Loren sang with Lauren!! My two favorites! You guys are amazin!”

Movieguide® previously reported on Daigle:

Lauren Daigle is sharing her advice for young people as they prepare to go back to school in the fall.

“See the people around you,” the Grammy Award winner said. “I think that it can be really lonely sometimes, and especially with social media and the difficulties that kids are facing, the amount of what they have to encounter when they wake up in the morning and begin school is something I didn’t have when I was in high school, I didn’t have when I was in middle school, I didn’t have when I was in college, and so I look at these kids, and I’m like, y’all are facing things that are beyond my scope [of] what I had to deal with.”

Daigle added, “But principles still remain the same. If you love your neighbor as yourself, you will see beautiful fruit…even the bully who hurts you, go in and say, ‘Even with the pain that you have caused me, I will choose to love you.’ Look at the person next to you that is being bullied and say, ‘Hey, I know how to be a friend to you in this time.’”
