Lauren Daigle is one of many stars urging fans not to fall victim to online scammers pretending to be them.

“I want to talk to you about something that’s extremely important to me,” she said in an Instagram video. “First of all, there have been a lot of fake videos, fake messages, all of this AI stuff, and it’s driving me nuts. So, I wanted to send a video out to everybody to say if you don’t see something from my actual page — it will have a blue checkmark, that is a verified account…[it] means that is my team or me sending you information.”

Daigle continued, “I will never…ask for your money for meet and greets, for my charity, dog, whatever thing they’re going to send you, okay?”

“It’s sad to see that this is how they’re taking advantage of people,” she said. “I think it’s absolutely horrible. I think there needs to be way more regulation on this stuff…to see people use your face and likeness to take advantage of other people is absolutely abhorrent.”

Daigle concluded, “I just want all of you to know, I will never take advantage of you. That is not what my MO is, so don’t pay attention to those videos…Don’t pay any mind to it because then it won’t win, okay?”

In another post, Daigle wrote, “We’ve recently seen a rise in scam accounts pretending to be me and my team. I want to make sure you all stay safe in this digital space. With the rapid increase of Al, these scammers can now make photos and videos that look and sound incredibly real. Please stay vigilant!”

She and her team encouraged followers to report accounts pretending to be Daigle, adding, “I want to make sure you’re all protected and safe in this digital space.”

Daigle has recently performed at a series of exciting shows, from an Andrea Bocelli concert to a show at Carnegie Hall.

“It is always such an honor to sing with @andreabocelliofficial,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “I want to give a huge thanks to his entire team for always welcoming me and making me feel like a part of the family.”

Writing about the Carnegie Hall performance, Daigle shared, “CARNEGIE HALL. The place that calls you higher…The joy of sound coming from the incredible talent surrounding me is a luxury I will never take for granted. All I have is overwhelming gratitude. God’s glory was palpable, captivating, sweeping. The sound of voices unified uplifting us to meet heaven here on earth – how wild a thought! To think heaven and earth could be singing together? Wow!”

Daigle’s message is an important reminder to be vigilant about who you are communicating with online and to make sure you’re not being taken advantage of.
