Author Lee Strobel says the scientific case for proof of God’s existence is stronger than ever before.
“The scientific evidence not only played a role, of course in the last several decades has become stronger, more clear, more compelling, more powerful, more persuasive than it ever has been in the history of the world,” he told Relevant Magazine.
Something notable he pointed out is the assumption that “the universe is eternal” can now be disproven.

“But thanks to a series of scientific discoveries over the last 50 to 60 years, virtually every scientist now concedes that the universe had a beginning at some point in the past,” Strobel explained. “Well, that leads to a very compelling argument for the existence of God.”
He continued, “What kind of a cause could bring a universe into existence? It must be transcendent, that is separate from creation. Must be spirit, because it existed before the physical world. Must be eternal, because it existed before physical time came into being. Must be powerful, given the potency of the creation event. Must be smart, given the precision of the creation event.”
Strobel even admitted he was “jealous” of skeptics in an interview with the Christian Post, sharing, “The more evidence we see, the more it challenges skeptical assumptions about faith. Now that the evidence of cosmology, physics and biochemistry points so compellingly toward a Designer, young people in particular are responding. This clashes with what many of them have been taught in school, which they’re now realizing is outdated and inaccurate.”
“This kind of evidence has come into much sharper focus than when I was investigating spiritual issues back in the 1980s,” he continued. “That’s why I’m so jealous for seekers today to take advantage of this resource. Two hundred times a second, around the clock, someone on the planet is typing into a computer search engine basically the question, ‘Is God real?’ The evidence today is sharper than ever: yes, God is real. And we can know and experience Him.”
It’s something Strobel explores further in his new documentary THE STORY OF EVERYTHING, which he executive-produced.
Based on the book Return of the God Hypothesis by Stephen C. Meyer, THE STORY OF EVERYTHING uses scientific data to point to God’s existence.
“I get a lot of mail from people who have physics degrees or biology PhDs – or professors who were skeptics, who read ‘Return of the God Hypothesis’ and have changed their mind,” Meyer told Crosswalk. “And we think the film can do the same thing.”
THE STORY OF EVERYTHING is now playing in theaters.
