Author Lee Strobel admitted he’s “jealous” of religious skeptics in new documentary THE STORY OF EVERYTHING.

“Let’s face it, a lot of the evidence has just emerged in the last 50 or so years,” he told the Christian Post of the doc, which explores how modern scientific discoveries in fields like physics and molecular biology point to the existence of God.

A description of THE STORY OF EVERYTHING reads, “From the precise laws that govern the stars to the intricate patterns found in every living cell, the film traces evidence of intentional design throughout nature. Whether examining distant star-forming clouds or the spiral structure of DNA, we discover a consistent signature woven into the fabric of existence.”

Strobel continued, “The more evidence we see, the more it challenges skeptical assumptions about faith. Now that the evidence of cosmology, physics and biochemistry points so compellingly toward a Designer, young people in particular are responding. This clashes with what many of them have been taught in school, which they’re now realizing is outdated and inaccurate.”

“This kind of evidence has come into much sharper focus than when I was investigating spiritual issues back in the 1980s,” he said. “That’s why I’m so jealous for seekers today to take advantage of this resource. Two hundred times a second, around the clock, someone on the planet is typing into a computer search engine basically the question, ‘Is God real?’ The evidence today is sharper than ever: yes, God is real. And we can know and experience Him.”

In a press release about THE STORY OF EVERYTHING, Strobel shared, “I’ve spent decades investigating whether belief in God stands up to scrutiny. What makes THE STORY OF EVERYTHING compelling is its focus on scientific evidence and its invitation for audiences to examine the data for themselves.”

Dr. Stephen C. Meyer, a philosopher of science who is also featured in the documentary, added, “This film doesn’t ask audiences to believe without evidence — it shows them the evidence. THE STORY OF EVERYTHING tells nothing less than the story of the scientific rediscovery of the evidence for the existence of God.”

“THE STORY OF EVERYTHING is a cinematic search for the signature behind reality — from the laws that shape galaxies to the code written into every living cell,” said director Eric Esau. “We set out to bridge wonder and reason, letting the cosmos and biology speak for themselves. I hope that the film awakens awe at the possibility that the deep order of the universe is not a coincidence, but a clue pointing to a mind behind it all.”

THE STORY OF EVERYTHING will play in theaters nationwide April 30-May 6.
