All 8 Live-Action SPIDER-MAN Movies to Return to Theaters This Spring

Columbia Pictures is celebrating 100 years of business by bringing its most popular hits back to the big screen, including all eight live-action SPIDER-MAN movies.

The original SPIDER-MAN trilogy, starring Toby Maguire, will return to theaters from April 15-29. The Andrew Garfield-led THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 1 and 2 will follow during the first two weeks of May. Finally, the newest Tom Holland-led movies will return to theaters starting May 20. SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, the last movie in Holland’s trilogy that brought all three actors together for an epic battle, will be re-released on June 3.

Part of Movieguide®’s review for NO WAY HOME reads:

SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME is filled with fun surprises and twists, plus lots of action. There’s plenty of serious jeopardy leading to stirring, sad and tearful moments. The performances are perfectly melded with the story’s twists and turns, including some surprise appearances. NO WAY HOME has a strong moral, redemptive premise that everyone deserves a second chance, even supervillains. In the movie, Aunt May inspires Peter to do the right thing and give the supervillains a second chance to set things right. SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME has many light obscenities and profanities, intense action violence and occult content.

These re-releases come at a troubled time for the live-action SPIDER-MAN franchise, which had a flop earlier this year in MADAM WEB. However, Sony – Columbia Pictures’ parent company is hoping to move on with the releases of KRAVEN THE HUNTER and a third VENOM movie later this year.

Meanwhile, a fourth Tom Holland-led Spider-Man movie is being discussed, but it’s still unknown whether or not it will happen.

“All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character,” Holland said last year. “Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing.”

“I feel very protective over Spider-Man. I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy,” he continued. “So, I won’t make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character.”

“But that said, if we can figure that out, I would be a fool not to put the suit back on again because I owe everything to Spider-Man,” Holland added. “I love the character and the people I get to work with. So, I would love to tell another story, but I’ll only tell it if we can find the right one.”

The re-release of the live-action SPIDER-MAN movies is just one of the many ways Columbia Pictures is celebrating its centennial. The company has already released a “100 movies for $100” deal and will bring other beloved classics back to theaters, such as SHREK and SHREK 2.
