Mark Wahlberg Credits ‘All My Success to My Faith’

Mark Wahlberg credits his success to his faith in God.

The actor told Fox News Digital about how faith and hard work has brought him to where he is today while at the opening of his new restaurant, Flecha.

“My faith, my faith and my family and just finding good balance. But I have to attribute all my success to my faith,” Wahlberg said.

The new restaurant is located in Huntington Beach, California. Wahlberg shared how he wants his customers to feel like family.

“I want to have them to have the most amazing experience they’ve ever had in a restaurant. I want them to feel like they’re at home, that they are doted on and spoiled,” he told Fox. “I’ve sent a lot of people in unannounced to really kind of see what the experience is like. I have an amazing staff, amazing team. And we are a family, we want to share our family experience, and that really translates. So come in, have an amazing experience with the food, the hospitality, drinks, just having fun. It’s an experience that you want to have over and over again.”

Wahlberg, a devout Catholic, also had Diocese of Orange Christ Cathedral Bishop Kevin W. Vann present at the new restaurant to bless it.

The FATHER STU actor is vocal about his faith. Movieguide® previously reported:

“I attribute everything good and everything positive in life to my faith. … As soon as I started putting my faith and focus on God, good things started happening for me. And even when they didn’t, it gives you the coping skills to deal with things that are inevitable, like loss and failure and those things. But, you know, again, my faith and my family, those are the most important aspects of my life.”

“I want to serve God and to be a good human being and to make up for the mistakes I made and the pain I put people through. That’s what I’m praying for, and I recommend it to anybody,” he said previously.

While living out one’s faith isn’t necessarily popular in Hollywood, Wahlberg won’t “deny” it.

“You know, it’s not popular in my industry, but I cannot deny my faith. It’s important for me to share that with people,” he said last year. “But, I have friends from all walks of life and all different types of faiths and religions, so it’s important to respect and honor them as well.”

His beliefs translate into the kinds of movies he wants to make, too.

“I feel like this is starting a new chapter for me in that, now, doing things like this — real substance — can help people,” Wahlberg said ahead of the release of FATHER STU. “I definitely want to focus on making more. I wouldn’t say necessarily just faith-based content but things that will help people.”
