Pop star Meghan Trainor just cancelled her tour to be with her family and new baby.

“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour,” Trainor announced. “Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time.”

She added, “This is the right decision for my family and me right now. I promise I’ll be back soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear this new record. I’m so proud of it, and I’m endlessly grateful for your love and support always.”

Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, welcomed their daughter, Mikey Moon Trainor, on Jan. 18.

On Jan. 20, Trainor said on Instagram, “We are over the moon in love with this precious girl. Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name. We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all🩷🥹🎀”

According to Variety, some have suspected that another reason for the cancellation is low ticket sales for the tour, due to seating maps showing that most seats at many venues had not been bought.

The mom of three previously shared that she had a tough time after her second child was born.

“I get asked in every single interview, ‘You just do it all! You tour, you have your whole career, you have the perfect family, an amazing life, and you always seem happy. How do you do it?!’ And I always answer: ‘Therapy, my antidepressants and my entire team,’” she said.

“I am blessed to be in this situation. I have an incredible nanny who’s here Monday through Friday. My mother lives down the street from me and is always there for me,” she went on, crediting her husband and managers.

They make “sure my schedule is kids-first, then work. And I have incredible doctors,” she added.

She recently said that her life is pretty crazy with three kids under 3 years old.

“I have three now, and it’s just like one’s infected in a weird place, one has diarrhea plus pinkeye and the other one’s just not sleeping or eating,” she explained. “We’re in the storm.”

It’s great that Trainor realizes she needs to prioritize her family more than her career right now. There’s a time for everything, and maybe her family needs her more right now than her fans do.
