It looks like things are full steam ahead for Netflix’s upcoming CHRONICLES OF NARNIA project!

Fan site NarniaWeb reported that “casting is officially underway” for the projects, adding that casting directors are on the lookout for “two children, a boy and a girl, to portray characters that are 10 or 11 years old.”
“Filming and rehearsals are scheduled to take place in the UK from June through Christmas 2025,” NarniaWeb continued.
While no other details have been released, fans have speculated that the casting of an 11-year-old boy and girl mean Gerwig is adapting The Magician’s Nephew.
Actor Jason Isaacs added fuel to the fire in an interview with The Week, where he talked about his love for the “Narnia” books, specifically, The Magician’s Nephew.
“I loved all the Narnia books as a kid,” he shared. “I picked this one because Greta Gerwig is about to make a film of it, which I can’t wait to see.”
It’s not clear if Isaacs accidentally revealed Netflix and Gerwig’s planned adaptation, or if he just misspoke, but his comments have made many fans positive that The Magician’s Nephew is being adapted.
Amid all the rumors, there is one piece of news that is confirmed: Gerwig’s first NARNIA project will premiere in theaters.
“After months of negotiations, Imax announced that NARNIA will be released exclusively on its screens worldwide for two weeks in advance of the film’s debut on Netflix,” Variety reported.
The outlet also shared that Gerwig’s NARNIA project is set to open in Imax on Thanksgiving Day 2026, premiering on Netflix at Christmas later that year.
