Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss left his heart on the field as he played a near-perfect game to give the Rebels a come-from-behind win and advance to the semi-finals of the College Football Playoffs.

According to Crosswalk Headlines, Ole Miss “scored 20 fourth-quarter points to upset No. 3 Georgia 39-34 in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff, led by Chambliss’ 362 passing yards and two touchdowns – and multiple escapes from defensive linemen when he appeared on the verge of being sacked.”

Last season, Chambliss played at Division II school, Ferris State, where he appeared in “25 games and made 16 starts during his four years at Division II Ferris State… Led the Bulldogs to their third national title in four years in 2024, defeating the previously unbeaten Valdosta State 49-14 for the championship,” Ole Miss Sports reported.

When asked how it feels to go from Division II to winning on the biggest stage in college football, Chambliss just praised God.

“Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, through and through. He’s been with me through the ups and downs, man. I just got to give thanks to God. It’s been an amazing journey. I’ve got to give thanks to the Oxford community and Ole Miss for giving me the opportunity to play here,” the young quarterback said.

There was a rough stretch for Chambliss and the Rebels, but when it came time to perform under pressure, Chambliss delivered.

“Yeah, I think I’m just a gamer. You know, you’ve got to make a play. I’m a playmaker as well,” he said. “So I trust my guys to make the right decisions and make the right plays, too. Our coaches put us in a great position as well. It’s just amazing, man. All thanks to our team, the support, and everyone. It’s just amazing.”

Through the hard times this season, Ole Miss has persevered due to their grit.

“We just want to win. We just want to play football, win, and have fun with our brothers. Ever since fall camp, this has been our goal — to get to the College Football Playoff and hopefully get to the national championship,” Chambliss said.

Chambliss finished the quarterfinals with 362 passing yards, zero interceptions, two touchdowns, and completed 30 of his 46 passes.

The Rebels will face the Miami Hurricanes tomorrow at 7:30 p.m., where Chambliss looks to play another great game and advance his team to the National Championship game.
