Oreo launched six never-before-seen flavors that will help consumers celebrate the Thanksgiving season, though not many of them seem particularly appetizing.

“Lay out your Thanksgiving spread the OREO cookie way! This limited-edition, test-and-learn tin includes six unique Thanksgiving-inspired flavors that invite fans to join a bold taste journey and share their honest feedback: Cranberry sauce, Pumpkin Pie, Turkey & Stuffing, Creamed Corn, Sweet Potato, Caramel Apple Pie. Packaged in a classic OREO tin and complete with a special-edition Thanksgiving belly band, this tin makes a great nostalgic keepsake or addition to your Thanksgiving festivities…” Oreo announced. “This flavor experiment is not your typical OREO indulgence, it’s a chance to try something unforgettable and help shape the future of flavor innovation.”

These flavors have received mixed response from fans, as some people are excited to try these unique cookies, while others were disgusted by the thought of every offering from this tin.

“No, I have no desire to try these,” one person wrote on a social media post about the tin.

“Turky-flavored Oreos? 🤨🤢,” another commented.

“That apple pie one sound🔥,” someone added in favor of the idea.

The introduction of the Thanksgiving Oreos comes as the company has worked to expand its favor offerings this past year. In May, the company partnered with Selena Gomez to launch a cookie inspired by her love for horchata and even featured her signature on the top of the cookie. In July, the company brought back its blueberry pie flavor for the first time since 2017. Later that month, Oreo also announced a crossover with Reese’s which resulted in a milk chocolate and white cream peanut butter cup.

Perhaps the venture into more unusual flavors is an effort to snag consumers’ interest as spending habits shift.

In recent months, consumers have become more disciplined in their spending habits, choosing to splurge less and save more as inflation sits at the back of their minds. A similar trend was seen in 2022, when Americans were fearful of an impending recession. One of the sectors that was hit hardest at that time was the entertainment industry which resulted in streamers seeing a drop in their subscribers and the theater industry struggling to pull audiences. Perhaps the entertainment industry is headed into a similar situation, as the fall box office has already begun to slow down after a red hot summer.

Whatever the case, fans of outlandish candy will have this Oreo Thanksgiving tin for solace as it takes them through a journey of the holiday’s most iconic flavors.
