Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake are marveling at the recent appearance of a double rainbow during a performance of their collaboration, “Hard Fought Hallelujah.”

“Ya’ll. Jelly Roll just FaceTimed me to tell me that a double rainbow broke out while he was leading ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah,’” Lake said in a Facebook Reel video. “Check this out.”

In the video, Jelly Roll, who was opening for Post Malone, performed the popular track, then stopped and said, “Look at that. You can’t tell me God ain’t here. Look at that rainbow, baby.”

Lake and Jelly Roll recently performed “Hard Fought Hallelujah” together at this year’s Stagecoach music festival.

In a video taken before they took the stage, Lake prayed over the group and audience, saying, “I pray that they would feel faith rise up inside of them, the Holy Ghost would sweep though this place unexpectedly. We’re under an open Heaven, and we know that You can be in all places. Lord, I pray that Your presence would be known as we have fun, as we enjoy each other, family, communities coming together, make us one, may unity just be so recognized in this place.”

“God, I pray more than anything that Your name would be known, that people’s lives will be changed tonight, and that they would realize that it’s because of You that they’re loved,” he continued. “They were created by this amazing Father, that You have amazing plans for every single one of us. And God, we just give You the glory. Thank You so much. We prophesy in Jesus’ name, amen.”

Jelly Roll has spoken at length about how much “Hard Fought Hallelujah” means to him.

“It’s been years since I worshiped the way that I worshiped [to ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah],” the country singer told Lake, adding that he “needed that record when I heard it.”

In an interview with K-LOVE’S MORNING SHOW, Jelly Roll praised Lake for making him feel welcome in the world of Christian music.

“[Lake] said to me on the phone everything that I wish the church would have,” he explained. “The way he made me feel is like, man, if I felt this way on Sunday when I went to a couple of churches, God knows where my journey would be at right now. Maybe the thing is that [if people weren’t] still mad at me for not being where they think I should be, maybe I’d already be there.”

Lake and Jelly Roll’s recent partnership on “Hard Fought Hallelujah” is an indicator of the growing mainstream popularity of worship music.
