Worship artist Josiah Queen just released a new single, “Dusty Bibles,” and promises more music on the way with his next album, coming later this summer.

“Wrote this one after doomscrolling for an hour,” he posted on Instagram earlier this month, adding in another post, “This might be the most honest song I’ve ever dropped.”

In “Dusty Bibles,” Queen sings, “We got dust on our Bibles, brand new iPhones, No wonder why we feel this way, We walk with our eyes closed, blind leading blind folks, And I’m donе with those idols and dusty Bibles.”

“Dusty Bibles” will feature on Queen’s next album, titled Mt. Zion, due out Aug. 22.

“Poured my heart and soul into this one,” he announced on Instagram. “It’s a journey into the presence of God.”

Queen spoke to Relevant Magazine about his music career, telling the outlet, “This was always the dream. I used to pray that I’d just get to write worship music for a living. That’s all I ever wanted.”

He started by writing songs that he “thought labels wanted, and they weren’t really clicking.” It wasn’t until Queen started writing songs that he liked that things started taking off for him.

He also discussed the growing recent popularity of worship music, especially with young people.

“There’s this hunger for truth,” Queen explained. “Even among people who don’t go to church. They’re tired of being sold something. They want what’s real. And I think people are starting to see that Jesus isn’t just a fairytale. There’s something here that actually holds up.”

He continued, “[Listeners will] say, ‘I’ve never been to church, but this song speaks to me.’ Or a parent will bring their kid to a show, and that kid wouldn’t set foot in a church, but they’ll come to a concert. And they’ll hear the gospel in a way that doesn’t feel forced. That’s what gets me. That’s the part I’ll never get over.”

Queen then shared his “biggest takeaway” from all of his musical success: “You’re only as good as the team around you. God’s been faithful in surrounding me with people who work hard, who believe in the music. I don’t take that for granted.”

“At the end of the day,” he concluded. “I want people to hear these songs and want more of Jesus. That’s it. If that happens, then I’ve done what I came to do.”

Queen is excited to share these new songs with the world, and his fans can’t wait to hear them!
