Nic D, a singer, songwriter and independent artist who posts his songs and skits on social media, loves God and his family.
“There’s a verse in Thessalonians 4:11 that kind of encompasses my whole mission statement,” Nic D told Movieguide®. The verse says, “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life. You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders, so that you will not be dependent on anybody.”
Nic D takes these words to heart. He explained that he and his family live on a large farm in Virginia, and he has only been to California twice.
When asked about his role as a father, the singer explained how what he lacked as a child motivates him to be a present dad for his kids.
“I always wanted to be a dad,” he explained. “My dad left…when I was 1 or so, and he wasn’t all that present, and I knew that I wanted to, I don’t know, make up for it or make a conscious effort to be the opposite.”
When he had kids, he realized how deeply God loves us.
“You don’t fully understand or grasp God’s love for us, that, like, unconditional, unfathomable kind of love, but when you look at your kids, you think, ‘There’s nothing that my son or daughter could do that would make me love them less. There’s nothing that [they] could do that’ll make me turn my back on them. There’s nothing they could do to make them not have a place to come back.’ You kind of get a glimpse of what that love is like when you have your own kids, and you really start to appreciate more the love that God has for us,” he said.
Nic D also explained why he puts his home life before everything else. “If home’s not good, none of this other stuff’s going to run smooth,” he said.
The singer recently released an album titled Sycamore. In a post to Instagram, he explained, “My wife’s been asking me to put these out for a long time…you guys have my wife to thank.”

The album contains 19 of the artist’s songs from over the years.
Fans expressed excitement in the comment section. “I can’t wait to cry to all of them,” one user said. Another person added, “WHAT!?! I bet it’s the BEST one yet because she’s the BEST thing that’s ever happened to you ❤️ I can’t freaking wait!”
