Hallmark is releasing a new Hannah Swenson movie, PIE TO DIE FOR: A HANNAH SWENSEN MYSTERY.
The new mystery movie will air on June 22 at 8 p.m. Eastern and 7 p.m. Central time on Hallmark Channel — not Hallmark Mystery — which is unusual for the network.
“When Hannah’s customer and Delores’ theater rival is murdered, Hannah must find her killer in order to save her mother’s reputation,” the synopsis reads. And “Chad and Hannah’s romance blossoms.”
The movie will feature familiar faces: Alison Sweeney, Victor Webster and Barbara Niven.
The announcement comes as a surprise. When Hallmark announced its May and June movie lineup, PIE TO DIE FOR wasn’t included in the list of titles.
Sweeny will also star in two other June premieres: TO BARCELONA, WITH LOVE and TO BARCELONA, FOREVER.
PIE TO DIE FOR is the 12th Hannah Swenson movie in the book-based franchise. Other popular movies in the set include MURDER, SHE BAKED: A CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE MYSTERY, A ZEST FOR DEATH: A HANNAH SWENSEN MYSTERY and the latest — REALITY BITES: A HANNAH SWENSEN MYSTERY.
As of this year, there are 30 books in the Hannah Swenson series by Joanna Fluke. That leaves Hallmark with plenty of material to work with for future movies.
For now, fans are all abuzz for PIE TO DIE FOR.

“So excited!!! Always up for pie and mystery!” one fan commented.
“Very exciting. I think @iamvictorwebster has been a great addition to the series,” another fan gushed.
Hallmark star Crystal Lowe hinted that she directed the movie. She said, “Yassss!!!!! You guys are gonna love it! I’m biased but the director on this is fantastic. 😂” and “Woooooo hooooo!!!! This one is mine. Check it out!”
Lowe directed another Sweeney-starring movie, THIS TIME EACH YEAR, in 2024. She said she was “so proud of this film” and “unbelievably grateful to @alisweeney for bringing me on. She is literally the best boss.”
The TO BARCELONA movies are part of Hallmark’s travel-inspired, “Passport to Love” set. TO BARECLONA, WITH LOVE premieres June 7. TO BARCELONA, FOREVER premieres June 14. Other movies in the set are VILLA AMORE, premiering June 21, and A MACHU PICCHU PROPOSAL, premiering June 28.
The TO BARCELONA, WITH LOVE logline reads, “Erica, an American translator, secretly revises a novel set in Barcelona. Everything is fine until bookstore owner Nico invites the credited author, Anna, to the city for a book-signing.”
“As Anna travels back to Barcelona,” the follow-up movie’s logline reads, “reuniting with Erica to celebrate her engagement to Nico, she meets a charming farmer and accidentally finds herself ‘engaged’ to save his family’s legacy.”
Next month, Hallmark will likely reveal its annual Summer Nights line-up.
