X has officially launched its live-streaming TV app.
MSN reported that, while X has been “quietly releasing the app on the smart TV app stores,” it is now officially live, with X CEO Elon Musk posting, “Beta version of 𝕏 TV is out” earlier this month.

X TV is similar to YouTube — users will be able to watch uploaded videos as well as live streams from other users. However, unlike Youtube, users must have an X account before using X TV.
A description of the X TV app from the Google Play store describes it as “a new way to experience the world of X, as we bring you unique and engaging content right to your living room.”
X TV is currently free and available for download on Google Play, LG’s app store and the Amazon App Store, meaning users with Amazon Fire TV, LG webOS, Android TV and Google TV can view X TV on their devices.
X TV is still in its beta testing phase, but it looks like Musk has big plans to turn the app into something special. Social Media Today reported that multiple celebrities have signed exclusive video content deals, including Khloe Kardashian, Tucker Carlson and Paris Hilton, as well as organizations like the WWE and rap battle show Verzuz.
“X is still working on new content deals, which will ideally bring more exclusives to the app,” the outlet continued.
Movieguide® previously reported on X TV:
Elon Musk bought X, formerly Twitter, in 2022 and plans to expand the platform’s reach through a new TV app.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The X video app launched Tuesday, with the company touting a handful of key features, including a trending video algorithm, artificial intelligence-powered trending topics and cross-device compatibility, so users can start watching on their phone and continue watching on TV.”
A note sent to the corporate partners stated that the app does not plan to have ads but could add them in the future.
“We’re focusing on launching this new feature for consumers first, but we do plan to monetize it, and will discuss different forms of partnerships — and that may include ads,” the note read.
Linda Yaccarino, X CEO, said the app is “changing everything” and will be “your go-to companion for a high-quality, immersive entertainment experience.”
