Wife of TWILIGHT Star Says Faith Helps Her ‘Enjoy Motherhood’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Brittany Lutz, wife of TWILIGHT star Kellan Lutz, is encouraging moms to lean on God in times of struggle.

She shared a video of her children playing in their backyard, along with a quote from Emily Jensen: “If we want to enjoy motherhood more, we actually need to enjoy Christ more. There isn’t life in motherhood. There’s life in Christ and that overflows in our motherhood.”

“I love this quote!” Brittany added in the caption. “When I feel like I’m struggling in motherhood, I’m losing patience, I feel overstimulated, I’m extra tired, I’m managing a household over enjoying my kids, it always directly correlates to how much time I’ve spent with Jesus. He fills me up so that I’m able to pour out and ENJOY motherhood to the fullest.”

Brittany Lutz is sharing the lessons God has taught her about motherhood.

“He’s shown me quiet time isn’t always quiet and that’s ok,” Lutz captioned a photo of herself and daughter Ashtyn. “Sometimes I wake up before them and get it in early, but sometimes I need the rest in order to serve my family in the way God is calling me to. He’s not mad at me. There’s space and grace for the capacity I have each day and He always meets me where I end, takes over, and gives me the strength needed to complete the day.”

She continued, “He’s shown me how important it is for them to see me in the Word. Hearing me pray over them, their dad, the world, etc. Watching me live out my values, beliefs and identity in real time in front of them is necessary rather keeping it exclusively in a prayer closet away from their sight.”

Brittany and her husband often speak about how their faith and family life are intertwined.

“We…have our faith, and we pray a lot, honestly,” he said in an interview with Fox News. “Our prayer life is one of the strongest things for us.”

In a separate interview, Kellan said he was “grateful” that he and his wife “believe the same thing.”

“We [know] a lot of other couples who don’t believe the same thing,” he said. “And I’m like, ‘That’s tough,’ especially if someone doesn’t believe in something and the other person does, because how do you say, ‘Hey, it’s going to be OK’ when that person doesn’t believe it’s going to be OK?”

Movieguide® previously reported on how the couple relied on their faith following a miscarriage:

“God will restore,” affirmed actor Kellen Lutz (THE TWILIGHT SAGA) after he and his wife, Brittany, shared that their daughter died in utero after six months in the womb.

“Just know we love you all and appreciate you all and we process all differently,” the actor posted to Instagram. “Can’t wait to see our baby girl in Heaven when God calls us home.”

The pair appear to be relying heavily on their Christian faith during this unimaginable season of grief.

“Taking heartbrokenness to a whole new level but Grateful for these past 6 months and the journey itself,” Kellan said. “In life we might not get the answers to all of our questions but we will always remain faithful!”
