SHAZAM! star Zachary Levi got emotional in a recent interview as he reflected on the power of God’s love.

“Nothing can separate you from the love of God. Nothing,” he told CBN News, then paused as he got a bit choked up. “Oh. Oof. Feeling that one.”

After getting a handle on his emotions, Levi continued, “Nothing can separate you from the love of God. I believe that with everything in me, and yet I struggle with believing it for myself.”

“I believe that easily for everybody else, but I struggle with it for myself, and I think that’s a human thing…because there is so much shame and blame and guilt-trippings on all sides, from everywhere,” he explained. “It’s very hard to see yourself through the lens of God’s love and grace and mercy and forgiveness, and we must see that for ourselves, and we must see that for other people.”

The TANGLED star often speaks about the power of faith in his own life. In a 2025 interview with The Christian Post, he said, “Faith is a massive part of my life. I am only here right now because of the faith that God gave me as a young child, believing that I was called to be an actor. I knew it.”

“The probability of becoming a successful actor in Hollywood is very, very, very, very low, but against all of those odds and everything else…I knew, in the faith that God had imbued me with, that this was what I was meant to do,” Levi continued. “And sure enough, that’s exactly what did transpire in my life.”

Levi is currently promoting his latest project, Fox Nation’s DAVID: KING OF ISRAEL, a docuseries about King David’s life.

“I grew up in a Christian home and reading my Bible and David was the story that always stood out to me as the most epic, the most amazing,” he said in a recent interview with Fox News. “It can be difficult to relate to Jesus. David is us. David is a person who is called a man after God’s own heart.”

Beyond biblical messages, Levi also promised viewers plenty of action, calling the series “LORD OF THE RINGS in the Bible.”

“You got giants and witches and all kinds of, you know, it’s cool and there’s massive battles, nation upon nation and good versus evil and all the spiritual elements of everything,” he said. “It’s a really fascinating story, even if you’re not within the Judeo-Christian lineage.”

The first two episodes of DAVID: KING OF ISRAEL are currently available to stream on Fox Nation.
