Content:
-1 Caution advised for older children, including teenagers, and sensitive adults.
Heath Ledger of THE PATRIOT stars in A KNIGHT’S TALE, where he plays a poor young man named William who poses as a noble knight to help feed himself and his friends. Although the rock music and modern dancing detracts from the story and there are some ribald moments, A KNIGHT’S TALE is an entertaining, warm, friendly movie with a Christian worldview and many moral elements.

+3 Some minor questionable elements. (Media-wisdom is suggested to discuss.)

DESPICABLE ME

Quality:
****
Content:
+1 Moderately questionable elements. (Discernment required for young children.)
DESPICABLE ME is a very witty, heartfelt animated movie about an extremely sinful character transformed by the love of three little girls. The ending to DESPICABLE ME is so uplifting and redemptive that it overshadows some of the action violence, slapstick comedy and light scatological references.

Every form of villainy is refuted, family is affirmed, doing the right thing is affirmed, and good triumphs.

A FAMILY THING

Quality:
***
Content:
-1 Caution advised for older children, including teenagers, and sensitive adults.
A FAMILY THING is a beautifully acted and simply told story of an older man's search for his identity. A cantankerous, racist man from Arkansas named Earl Pilchard, played by Robert Duvall, finds out he is half black, so he goes to Chicago to find his fully black half- brother, Virgil, played by James Earl Jones. Expertly crafted, the movie demonstrates that in God and God alone, the races can be united.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON

Quality:
****
Content:
+1 Moderately questionable elements. (Discernment required for young children.)
HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON is about the scrawny but brainy son of a Viking chieftain who helps the community end a 300-year feud with fire-breathing dragons. HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON is funny, entertaining, exciting, and heart-warming family fun, with a redemptive message, but some of the action may be too scary for very young children.

SKYFALL

Quality:
****
Content:
-2 Extreme caution for older teenagers and adults.
SKYFALL, James Bond’s 23rd outing, has Bond and his female boss, M, trying to stop a former revenge-minded British spy from selling the names of all undercover NATO agents in terrorist groups to the highest bidder. SKYFALL may be the most personal, redemptive, and emotionally powerful and satisfying, Bond movie yet, but strong caution is advised. Especially for some brief sexual elements and foul language.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Quality:
****
Content:
+1 Moderately questionable elements. (Discernment required for young children.)
In ROOKIE OF THE YEAR, a fantasy comes true when a 12-year-old Little Leaguer suddenly acquires a pitching arm so good, the Chicago Cubs want him to play for them. A delightful comedy, ROOKIE OF THE YEAR should tap into the dreams of children of all ages and capture a sizable summer audience, although this otherwise wholesome movie regrettably contains a few foul words, some childish name calling and repeated exclamations (e.g., "Oh, my God!").

WAR OF THE WORLDS

Quality:
***
Content:
-1 Caution advised for older children, including teenagers, and sensitive adults.
WAR OF THE WORLDS, starring Tom Cruise, is an exciting, morally uplifting remake of the novel by H.G. Wells, about the impact of an alien invasion on a man and his family. Directed by Steven Spielberg, WAR OF THE WORLDS is very suspenseful, and has a patriotic message, but the pacing is sometimes repetitive, the special effects sometimes overpower the storytelling, and there is a significant amount of foul language.

THE YOUNG VICTORIA is about the first few years of the Queen Victoria’s long reign in England during the 1800s, including her relationship and eventual marriage to the loving, dashing, and wise Prince Albert. ****
Content:
-1 Caution advised for older children, including teenagers, and sensitive adults.

FROZEN II provides exceptional, funny, exciting entertainment, with powerful plot points, great animation and a beautiful soundtrack.
