A ROYAL CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY stars Britany Underwood. She plays a young news reporter named Katie Vienna who wants to move up the ladder at the local news station, from doing public service announcements to getting a shot at the local news desk. Meanwhile, Prince Jonathan Wentworth comes to America to escape his life in Visaria, where his mother starts a rumor that he has a fiancée and where he has written a bestselling book about his grandfather, which inspires a museum to be built in his honor.
Prince Jonathan comes to America to dedicate a naval war museum to honor his grandfather for his services in the last great war. Jared, Katie’s boss, asks Katie to cover the story and get an exclusive interview with the Prince. She sees him at the airport, but he declines the interview due to lack of time. However, he promises to contact her later for an interview.
They meet at a local restaurant. While she’s there, Katie’s rival, veteran reporter Carol Jordan, spots her talking to Prince Jonathan. She wants that interview for herself and convinces the
studio manager to give it to her. The manager asks his staff to keep Katie’s interview a secret until she lands it.
As Katie and Prince Jonathan spend time together, they realize they are growing closer. So, when Katie gets a call that her father has had an accident, the Prince asks to tag along.
While on the way to visit her parents, Prince Jonathan gets to play Santa to the children at a nearby store and showers his love on the children of struggling parents by giving them the special gifts they asked Santa to give them. Jonathan meets Katie’s dad and learns that, like his grandfather, he also served in the military, earning a purple heart.
Driven by the father’s example of integrity, Jonathan confesses to Katie during his interview with her that he didn’t author his book but rather a ghostwriter did. She agrees not to use that footage, keeping the matter private.
With the museum dedication just a day away, Prince Jonathan plans to return to Visaria for the royal ball. However, the plan is derailed when Katie overhears Jonathan talking about his alleged fiancée, and her news station accidentally runs the footage of him confessing he didn’t author his book, causing embarrassment for Jonathan.
Jonathan plans to return to Visaria. Can Katie convince him that airing the footage wasn’t her fault?
