Overview:
BRINGING UP BABY is the classic 1938 screwball comedy directed by Howard Hawks and starring Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn. Grant plays a nerdy dinosaur expert, David, who finds himself the unwanted center of attention of a flighty young heiress, Susan, played by Hepburn. David has finally found a priceless dinosaur bone, but he needs funding for his museum. Sadly for him, every time he tries to make a good impression on the lawyer of the rich woman who will give him $1 million, Susan gets in the way. Throw in a pompous big game hunter, a yappy terrier named George who likes to bury large bones, a drunken groundskeeper, a bumbling sheriff, and a pet leopard named Baby, and you have the makings of an instant classic. Of course, Susan’s aunt turns out to be the potential donor, but Susan has helped David make the worst possible first impression in the history of first impressions. Add a really vicious leopard escaped from a zoo, and your funny bone will never be the same again!
