GARFIELD: A TAIL OF TWO KITTIES

"Garfield Gets the Royal Treatment"

Watch:

What You Need To Know:

GARFIELD: A TAIL OF TWO KITTIES is bigger and slightly better than the first GARFIELD movie. This time, Garfield the cat and Odie the dog travel to London to surprise their master, Jon, who is in England to propose to his girlfriend, Liz. Garfield hates not being the center of attention and plans to stop Jon from marrying Liz. When he gets to London, Garfield accidentally switches places with a look-alike cat named Prince. Prince has just inherited a castle. Garfield gets the royal treatment at the castle, except for Lord Dargis, who is next in line to inherit the estate. Dargis tries to do away with Garfield. Garfield must join the other animals to stop Dargis while Odie helps Jon find Garfield.

A TAIL OF TWO KITTIES has something for everyone. The talking animals and physical humor will please younger children. Teenagers and adults will enjoy the wisecracks from Bill Murray as the voice of Garfield. The new GARFIELD movie doesn't focus on sending great moral messages. There is a good message about standing up to bullies, but also a few light scatological jokes and some very light foul language.

Content:

(B, L, V, N, M) Light moral worldview with a message about standing up to bullies; two uses of the word "butt," three uses of "Good Lord," one use of "My God," two uses of "what the devil," one use of "what the heck," dog urinates on soldier's shoe, and a couple jokes about passing gas and burping; light slapstick violence such as dog bites man's pants in crotch area, man tumbles down stairs, animals make a mess of kitchen, bull chases man, man tries to kill cats, man punches another man, and man's clothes are tattered; no sex scenes but a couple kisses and man flirts with women; upper male nudity on a statue or two; no alcohol use; no smoking; and, villain lies, cat disobeys master and woman leaves estate to her cat.

GARFIELD: A TAIL OF TWO KITTIES is bigger and slightly better than the first GARFIELD movie.

This time, Garfield the crotchety cat and Odie the friendly mutt secretly travel to London to surprise their master, Jon, who is in England to propose to his girlfriend, Liz. Garfield hates not being the center of Jon’s life and plans to stop Jon from marrying Liz. When he gets to London, however, Garfield accidentally switches places with a look-alike cat named Prince. Prince has just inherited a castle from Lady Carlyle, who loved animals. Garfield gets the royal treatment at the castle, except for Lord Dargis, who is next in line to inherit the estate. Dargis tries to do away with Garfield so he can build a resort and feed the estate’s animal menagerie to the guests. Garfield must join with the other animals to stop Dargis while Odie helps Jon find Garfield.

A TAIL OF TWO KITTIES has something for everyone. The talking animals and physical humor will please younger children. Teenagers and adults will enjoy the wisecracks from Bill Murray as the voice of Garfield. Billy Connolly is fun as the villainous Lord Dargis. The romance between Breckin Meyer and Jennifer Love Hewitt as Jon and Liz is sweet.

The new GARFIELD movie doesn’t focus on sending great moral messages. There is a good message about standing up to bullies, but also a few light scatological jokes and some light foul language. For example, Odie urinates on a soldier’s leg and Lord Dargis says, “Good Lord!” a few times.

Garfield is a sarcastic, demanding and disobedient cat, but he ends up doing the right thing. Most of the time.
