Overview:
In this version of the famous play about American newspapers, THE FRONT PAGE, the reporter is changed to the ex-wife of the editor. A hilarious movie, the dialogue comes fast and furious as Cary Grant, the editor, tries to get back together with his ex-wife, played by Rosalind Russell, and prevent her from marrying an insurance salesman, played by Ralph Bellamy. Superbly directed by Howard Hawks, who forced the actors to double the speed of the dialogue, which makes for a very frantic, very funny time at the movies. The movie also exposes big city corruption and could have been made today.
